Collaborative Law
Collaborative law is a team approach to the divorce process. In a collaborative case a team of professionals is assembled to work with the family to make the divorce process as smooth and amicable as possible. The team includes attorneys, coaches (mental health specialists), a child specialist, and a financial expert all trained in the collaborative process. The team works together in a non-adversarial manner to craft the best solution for the family. The parties agree not to involve the court in the case as they work toward solutions. In the event that the parties are unable to resolve the case collaboratively, both of the attorneys must withdraw from representation of the parties and the parties must start anew.
