Rebecca Hoelting

Rebecca Hoelting is a family law attorney practicing at McCurdy & Candler, LLC in downtown Decatur.

An Atlanta-area native, Rebecca attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and returned to Georgia to attend the University of Georgia Law School. Rebecca served on the editorial board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and graduated cum laude in 1995.

Following law school, Rebecca practiced with domestic relations attorneys in Atlanta and Decatur. From 1999 to 2004 Rebecca was a litigation associate with the firm of McKenna, Long & Aldridge. In 2004, Rebecca opened her practice in Decatur dedicated solely to family law.

Rebecca represented the prevailing party in the Georgia Supreme Court case of Groover v. Groover, 297 Ga. 507 (2005).

Rebecca served on the committee for the State Bar of Georgia’s Family Law section that made recommendations to the Georgia legislature regarding changes to the custody laws. She served as Editor in Chief of the Georgia Bar Journal.

In 2005, Rebecca helped to organize National Adoption Day in Fulton County Juvenile Court. Rebecca served as President of the Board of Directors of The Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and has spoken at training sessions throughout Georgia for Guardians Ad Litem.

Rebecca serves on the Executive Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and the board of the Anti-Defamation League’s Southeastern Region.

Rebecca is a volunteer lecturer for Visions Anew.

Rebecca lives in Atlanta with her husband Dan and their daughters Gabriella and Mitzi.
